Antiplatelet health effects of tomato products
The ongoing collaboration between the Tomato Foundation and SSICA is now publishing important new scientific papers, based on the positive data from their 2020/21 tomato products research. One such paper is currently passing through the scientific review panels of the Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition.
Upon publication, this paper will start a new chapter on the science relating to the beneficial health effects derived from consuming tomato products.
The research is being promoted as an essential element of Lifestyle Medicine.
Lifestyle Medicine is a treatment protocol prescribed by medical professionals that advocates positive lifestyle changes - improving nutrition and increasing physical activity - complementary to standard medical practice. It is endorsed by family doctors, cardiologists, endocrinologists, pediatricians and other healthcare providers andrepresents a rapidly growing movement in modern medicine.
The Tomato Foundation is a member of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine and the European Lifestyle Medicine Organisation. A scientific poster based on the abstract of the new scientific publication currently being prepared by Dr. Luca Sandei of SSICA, was requested by the BSLM for their annual conference in Manchester, UK last week, for presentation during their poster session.
The BSLM have invited the Foundation’s founder, David Sutherland and Foundation President / SSICA Research Director, Dr. Luca Sandei to participate in an online webinar for the society’s membership.
The goal of the webinar is to define the importance of incorporating regular servings of tomato products in a healthy diet, based on the results of the TF/SSICA research.
